Welcome Cast Members to our 2024 Summer productions of James and the Giant Peach Jr.!
Auditions are scheduled for April 10 and April 24! Sign-up for your time slot.
Please sign-up for one 15-minute time slot. Auditions should take only 5 minutes and we will call cast members in one at a time.
Cast Members should come prepared to sing a song of their choice (it can be from the show or a personal favorite). You will be asked to let us know which song will be sung, when you sign up, and we will have the backtrack available at the audition (you can also choose to sing a cappella).
NAPA Auditions are used to get a feeling for each cast member's comfort-level on stage and will be used to make casting decisions. Auditions are nothing for your cast member to be afraid of, but if they are feeling nervous, parents are invited to sit in on the audition to give them that extra bit of courage needed :)
Please note that the content on this page will not be complete until after auditions have occurred and the Casting List has been set. No online copy of the script could be found so the Libretto link navigates to more information about the show.
Based on one of Roald Dahl’s most poignantly quirky stories, Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach JR. is a brand new take on this "masterpeach" of a tale. Featuring a wickedly tuneful score and a witty and charming book, this adventurous musical about courage and self-discovery is destined to be a classic.
When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that grows a tremendous peach, rolls into the ocean and launches a journey of enormous proportions. James befriends a collection of singing insects that ride the giant piece of fruit across the ocean, facing hunger, sharks and plenty of disagreements along the way.
The possibilities for creative costuming and puppetry abound, and young actors will love playing the outlandish and larger-than-life human and insect characters.
